Privacy policy
Last updated August 2, 2026
The Good Race Foundation respects the privacy of everyone who visits this site, gives to our work, or joins our mailing list. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
We collect only what we need in order to do the work and to meet our legal obligations as a charitable organization.
- Information you give us. When you make a gift, join our email list, or contact us, we receive your name, email address, mailing address, and the details of your gift.
- Payment information. We never see or store your card or bank details. Payments are processed entirely by our donation platform, Givebutter, and its payment processors.
- Basic site usage. Our web host records standard server information such as pages requested and approximate location. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
How we use it
- To process your gift and send your charitable donation receipt.
- To keep the donor records the IRS requires us to keep.
- To send you updates, if you asked for them.
- To answer you when you write to us.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing purposes. We do not publish donor names or gift amounts without asking permission first. We share information only with the service providers who make this work possible — our donation platform and our email provider — and only to the extent they need it, or when the law requires it.
Email and unsubscribing
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor it immediately. You can also write to us and ask to be removed, and we will do it by hand.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Records we are legally required to retain for tax and audit purposes are the one exception, and we will tell you plainly if that applies.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the updated version here with a new date at the top.
